THE SHIKIMATE PATHWAY
It was only five or six years ago that I started to understand the Shikimate Pathway. Sounds Japanese, doesn’t it. That’s because the name did evolve from a Japanese plant in the 1800’s. Aniseed or star anise if I recall correctly, but no guarantee.
The following synopses is my understanding, which should be close to what happens, but much more understandable than a Research Gate pdf.
The Shikimate Pathway occurs in Plants, but not in animals. But all animals, including dogs and humans eat plants and ingest the shikimic acid into their biome. Now believe it or not, the way that Monsanto got Glyphosate approved was to fool the The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that because humans didn’t have a Shikimate Pathway, Glyphosate was of no harm as a herbicide.
Chemical Farming & The Loss of Human Health – Dr. Zach Bush
The above video will give you a really good grounding of the increase in health defects throughout the Western World and also low gdp countries where USA companies have pushed the value of Glyphosate for the increase in yield. All of the reasons for glyphosate not to be used are revealed in the video.
Warning: The document below may cause melancholy.
If you prefer reading to watching a video, then this pdf will enlighten you.
My Stoush With Council
You may or may not know that Kumbartcho Project Farm is a Biodynamic, Syntropic, Organic, Regenerative Agriculture and Natural Sequence Farm. Set on 143 hectares off Mudlo Rd in Kilkivan QLD. The farm is dedicated to non-chemical farming and learning the techniques of all the above and applying them to the farm to help all the interest being generated for these techniques.
I installed numerous signs on the road boundary of the farm that Kumbartcho Project Farm is a no spray zone. All chemicals are prohibited.
There seems to be a perverse nature inculcated in council, either in the workforce or the higher ups. I had to make a real stand to stop the road verges being subjected to glyphosate. And when they had lost that battle, the guide posts and signs on the opposite side of the road were subjected to a 3 metre radius spray, with I guess a lot of chemical drift onto Kumbartcho.
Don’t get me started on the trees needing to be nurtured on the Council Horse Pavilion, that’s a blog post for another day.
Everything is going gangbusters here at Kumbartcho Project Farm and you are welcome to come and visit and see what we are doing. From Nguni cattle, to Transylvanian Naked Neck Chooks with South African Sheep and Maremma guard dogs.

The South African sheep are originally from Persia, now known as Iraq/Iran. They found their way to South Africa as killers on a ship and were traded for local South African sheep, then became South African sheep. They are also the Per in Dorper.
Don’t get too dejected about the glyphosate dilemma, there is change afoot and you can help make it happen. Everyone needs to get involved to make the change. We need some people to be like the ones who are picketing the DOGE in the US and causing sales of Teslas to decline. They are only talking about cars.
The consensus about glyphosate is that all human life on earth will disappear inside 35 years if we don’t do something about it. I’m dedicated to that cause and will continue to work toward chemical free farming.
If you wish to see a diverse chemical free farm and how it has developed, call me.

Addendum to above.
I forgot to add a link to a most enlightening conversation with a Dr. Don Huber and his history with glyphosate. It is an acres USA blog post
Dr. Don Huber talks about his career as a researcher, professor and Army officer, as well as about the many long-term dangers of glyphosate — as a mineral chelator, as an antibiotic, as a cause of plant disease, and more
Glyphosate Does What It’s Designed to Do — Kill
After clicking on the above link, scroll down to the ACRES ECO-FARMER MEMBERSHIP to go straight to the glyphosate section. This is an outstanding read.
